A spark of magical flavor

In the early days of European colonial expansion the object of the extraordinary efforts to navigate the globe was gold: finding riches in other worlds, and transporting it back to Europe to gild and support the royal chambers. Explorers quickly realized that not all gold was metal and some began transporting botanical gold from one world to another as well. Of these discoveries was a small golden pepper the size of a pinky that mystified the mouth and outlook of those who were privileged to behold this new treasure. A different way of flavor was born.
